AMPP - Southeast Louisiana Chapter - NEW MEMBERS CORRESPONDACE

I see that you have recently joined AMPP and ho[e you are a member of the AMPP Southeast Louisiana (SELA) Chapter, and we would like to welcome you not only to the association, but to our local AMPP SELA Chapter as well.

Our SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA (SELA) CHAPTER will be meeting on regular basis. We will be having in-person meetings in Lafayette, Baton Rouge and of course in the New Orleans area. We hope you will be able to attend these valuable meetings, since they will more quickly familiarize you with AMPP and all it has to offer. Our next meeting will be announced on the AMPP News and Activities Website www.AMPP.org/nola.

Additional activities available through AMPP are:

Education ONE OR TWO DAY Seminars - Each Seminr will providie training and networking opportunities to industry. These seminars will replace the Annual Education Week that has been scheduled for December.

Corrosion Engineering Course at UNO - AMPP has donated to the Mechanical Engineering Department of UNO to support corrosion efforts that result in an undergraduate and graduate corrosion engineering course that has been taught annually since 2009.This fall, ENME 4741 & ENME 5741 will be taught.

ASM Free Materials Teacher’s Camp - Since 2009 AMPP has partnered with the ASM international Education Foundation to provide training to local teachers regarding implementing materials & corrosion-based content in their STEM programs.

Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair (GNOSEF)- AMPP supports GNOSEF to assist in judging the fair and provides special awards to students and their teachers demonstrating strong understanding of materials and corrosion. In partnership with ASM Foundation two students’ demonstration knowledge in materials science are awarded all-expense paid trip to a week-long Materials Science Camp in Materials Park, Ohio

University Scholarships – AMPP has provided scholarships to incoming university students, fulltime undergraduates and graduate students who are nominated annually by New Orleans AMPP members. Note Student must be a Student Member of AMPP (Membership is free)

Sponsorships - Companies may sponsor an AMPP SELA event and will be permitted to display brochures, products, etc. and will be recognized on the AMPP SELA website and in all meeting communications to AMPP members.
