The Association for Material Protection and Performance (AMPP) formerly NACE International, is pleased to announce its support and participation in the annual Greater New Orleans Science & Engineering Fair (www.GNOSEF.org).
AMPP SELA sponsors the Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair with special awards and has been a bronze contributor of $1,000 annually for many years. AMPP SELA also partners with ASM, the Materials Society Foundation, to allow two students to attend the ASM Student Materials Camp free each summer. www.ASMFoundation.org
Special awards to those who demonstrate the best understanding of corrosion and materials science,
1st and 2nd cash awards to students and Teachers.
These awards in the honor of past corrosion professionals include:
- The Lavigne Gatzke Senior High School Division (Students and Teachers) Awards and
- The Richard M. (Dick) Dannenberg III Junior High School Division (Student and Teachers) Awards
1st Place Students $200/ Teachers $200, (both Senior and Junior Divisions)
2nd Place Students $100/ Teachers $100 (both Senior and Junior Divisions).
All winners, their parents, and teachers are invited to attend and be recognized at the AMPP SELA Chapter Luncheon which is held in conjunction with the Free ASM Materials Science Teachers Camp at UNO in June at the Mechanical Engineering Department of UNO,.
The ASM International Foundation Awards - 10th/11th Grade winner(s) if they meets ASM Foundation requirements) to receive an all-expense paid trip (air fare, hotel, food, and camp fee) to attend the ASM Student Materials Camp in Metals Park (Cleveland, Ohio) in July.
